Impact of Round Gobies on Juvenile Yellow Perch

This project will study the effect of round gobies (an invasive  species) on recruitment of yellow perch in Lake Michigan. Sampling  for perch and gobies will be performed on sandy substrates and reefs  on the eastern and western shores of Lake Michigan, diets of yellow  perch from the sampling locations will be compared, and laboratory  experiments will be performed to determine the feeding behavior of  juvenile yellow perch in the presence of gobies and without gobies.  Results will be helpful in determining whether more artificial reefs  should be constructed in Lake Michigan.
