Research 2  2-2  3  1. Continue experiments to isolate and identify  substances associated with MFO activity and endocrine disruption  present in tissues of fish exposed to pulp and paper dependent on new  funding, GL2 2  currently funds ~2 % of this work. 2. Complete quantification of agrochemical residues in surface water,  groundwater and sediments in New Brunswick and PEI from 2  1-2  2  growing season.  Complete Symposium in Toxicology, University of  Guelph, March, 2  2. This work will determine the environmental fate  and fluxes of modern "unleachable" pesticides using state of the art  techniques. Results will be used by EC and PMRA. TSRI and CNTC  funded. Dependent on renewal of CNTC funding. 3. Continue studies on bioactivity of natural and anthropogenic  components of oil sands deposits and processing. Work related to fate  of oil sands process wastes, oil sands development undergoing massive  expansion over the next decade. Work in support of CEPA and  ultimately EEM. Dependent on renewal of PERD funding. 4. Continue studies to determine natural incidences of intersex and  background gonadal development for relevant fish species at reference  locations by filling in missing temporal collections in southern  Ontario.  Small fish species have excellent potential for use in EEM  but little is known about normal development and reproduction.  Thesestudies will provide that knowledge for their application in  EEM. Funding by GL2 2 . 5. Continue studies and guidance document development on  investigation of cause relating to Environmental Effects Monitoring.  A-base funding.
