Endocrine Disruptors

The objective of the project is to identify and understand the   responses of aquatic ecosystem to chemical exposures, particularly to   point source effluents and applications. One of the new rapidly   expanding areas is endocrine disruptors, or chemicals that alter   endocrine homeostasis. The objective of my project is specifically   to expand Environment Canada's endocrine program on endocrine   disruptors by expanding our ability to examine these compounds, to   collaborate with other countries on this issue as well as to   determine the extent to which these compounds alter the Canadian   environment. Another focus of this project is to conduct studies   that support the Environmental Effects Monitoring Programs for pulp   and paper and mining.
