Options for VHSV management : a risk assessment approach

Objectives of this project:   1) Conduct preliminary risk analysis to identify hazards associated   with changes in VHSV management;  2) Host workshop (to include CEFAS and other invited European   stakeholders) to evaluate preliminary risk assessment, rank hazards,   identify gaps in scientific knowledge, plan and prioritise workload;  3) Scientifically evaluate the principal hazards identified;  4) Consolidate epidemiological information into risk assessment;  5) Refine risk assessment based on scientific and epidemiological   data analysis to incorporate management scenarios acceptable to   policy makers;  6) Provide scientific advice on the most appropriate control regime   for VHS and advice on additional measures for reducing risks   identified with proposed changes in VHS management;  7) Develop practical methods to rapidly distinguish different VHSV   subtypes required to underpin any proposed management changes.    (VHS); (VHSv); (viral hemorrhagic septicemia); (viral haemorrhagic   septicaemia); (viral hemmorrhagic septicemia); (VHSV)
