Investigating Individual PCB Congener Concentrations in Turtle Blood Samples: A Non-Lethal Measure for Monitoring Environmental Contamination

Objectives:  1) To analyze concentrations of individual PCB congeners in blood samples taken from snapping turtles collected in the previous year. 2) To compare concentrations of individual PCBs in blood plasma with those determined in turtle eggs and fat. 3) To evaluate the relationship among individual PCBs in these three organismal compartments to determine whether blood levels of PCBs predict fat and egg levels.
