Restore Species

The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) will protect and restore wetland and terrestrial habitat for Great Lakes threatened, endangered, and species of conservation concern such as Piping Plover and Karner blue butterfly. By October 2011, habitat restoration projects will occur on over 10,000 acres of land on or adjacent to the Superior, Ottawa, Huron / Manistee, Hiawatha, Chequamegon-Nicolet and Green Mountain / Finger Lakes National Forests.
