Boardman Fish Passage and Habitat Restoration (MI)

The Conservation Resource Alliance and partners will remove the mobile portion of accumulated sediment in the impoundment upstream of Brown Bridge Dam on the Boardman River. This work will minimize the downstream transport of 20,000 cubic yards of sediment, following the planned removal of the dam. By removing this sediment in concert with the dam removal, near-term habitat impacts from excessive sediment will be minimized, shortening the time table for natural restoration of the channel and floodplain, literally by decades.
