Seismic reflection surveying in regional hydrogeology: an example from the Montérégie region, Quebec

In the Montérégie region, south-east of Montreal, Quebec, high-resolution compressional (P-) and shear (S-) wave reflection sections have been obtained using a vibratory source/landstreamer data acquisition system as part of a strategy to improve the knowledge and understanding
of groundwater resources within the glacial and post-glacial sediments in the region. Over 100 line-km of seismic profiling provides detailed information on the depth to bedrock and architecture and stratigraphy of the overlying sediments.
