A 3D integrated approach for geological modelling to improve hydrogeological characterization

Accurate solute transport modeling requires a comprehensive study of the spatial distribution of the geological units. Here, descriptive geological surface interpretation, borehole logs and geophysical data were acquired and gathered in a 3D interface to improve the modeling of the
Montérégie aquifers. Three-dimensional data integration allowed an improved understanding of the geological units spatial structure and enables facies modeling while reducing the uncertainty about their lateral variations.
